Hi, I'm Delos Petrie.
I own and operate Petrie Path Drone Services in Brewerton, New York. You'll work with me directly, from the first call to the final files.
Background
I'm a military veteran and an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot, with OSHA 10-hour Construction and CPR/AED training. I'm also studying Uncrewed Technology.
Petrie Path focuses on clear scope, organized capture and usable project files, so property owners, contractors and project teams get exactly what they need from a flight.
How I work
- Start with what you need to learn, show or document, then plan the flight around it.
- Confirm airspace, site access, safety requirements and deliverables before flying.
- Capture consistently and keep organized project records.
- Be explicit about what the data does and doesn't establish.
- Bring in, or work under, licensed professionals when a project requires them.
Tools chosen for mapping and detail
Equipment matters, but it isn't a qualification. Here's what the tools make possible, in plain terms.
DJI Matrice 4E
An enterprise drone built for mapping. Its 20-megapixel wide camera has a mechanical shutter, which keeps mapping photos free of motion distortion. Two 48-megapixel zoom cameras (70 mm and 168 mm equivalent) capture detail from a safe distance, and it records 4K video.
RTK with NYSNet
An RTK receiver uses real-time corrections from NYSNet, the New York State Department of Transportation's GNSS reference network, to tag each photo with a precise position. What that does and doesn't mean for accuracy.
DJI Terra
Processing software that turns overlapping photos into map images, surface models, 3D models and point clouds, with tools for distance, area and volume measurements.
Service area
Based in Brewerton, at the west end of Oneida Lake, and serving Greater Syracuse and Auburn: Onondaga, Oswego, Madison and Cayuga counties. That includes Syracuse, Auburn, Baldwinsville, Cicero, Clay, Liverpool, Fulton and Oswego.

What I don't do
I'm not a land surveyor, engineer or home inspector, and I don't offer thermal, LiDAR or multispectral imaging. When your project needs one of those, I'll say so, and I can supply aerial data to the licensed professional you hire.
